A climate finance fund with a $1B mandate to accelerate sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy across emerging markets needed a digital presence that could hold its own in the room with institutional investors and policymakers — while remaining manageable for an internal team without ongoing developer dependency.
The design challenge was twofold: create something that communicated ambition and credibility without defaulting to the generic sustainability visual language that saturates the sector, and build it in a way that the client's team could own and grow independently after launch.
The project started with narrative before touching any layout. Working closely with the client, I developed a content and messaging framework that established a clear, confident tone across the site — precise where it needed to be authoritative, accessible where it needed to build trust with a broader audience. The goal was to sound like a fund that knew exactly what it was doing, without the jargon that usually fills that space.
That narrative framework then shaped the site architecture: what lives where, how audiences are routed through the experience, and how impact is communicated progressively rather than front-loaded into a single dense landing page.
The build was done entirely in Framer, which enabled fast iteration and a fully responsive output across devices. The design system was built with longevity as a first principle — reusable components, consistent tokens, and a visual hierarchy that makes it easy to introduce new content without breaking the overall experience. Investor-ready reports, interactive project maps, and content-heavy sections were all templated for in-house management.
Capacity transfer was built into the engagement from the start, not bolted on at the end. Training sessions and documentation ensured the internal team could confidently maintain and evolve the platform without coming back for support.
The fund launched with a digital presence that reflects the scale and seriousness of its mission — bold without being loud, data-forward without being inaccessible. The platform functions as an active engagement tool across stakeholder groups, and the internal team can operate it independently.
It's also a project that sits squarely at the intersection of communications strategy and design execution — which is a rarer combination than it sounds.
